My client, a materials engineering consultancy, is looking for a Business Development Manager to proactively drive revenue growth with new client acquisitions across both existing and new industry sectors.

This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in the future growth of a high-potential organisation, as they undergo the next stage of their development and expansion. New business is the name of the game, you will be targeted on generating new revenue streams across a variety of sectors.

What you'll need:

  • Proven experience in a B2B commercial, business development or sales role, with a keen focus on new customers.
  • Highly customer-focused with experience building strategic partnerships.
  • Track record of delivering sales targets while maintaining excellent customer service and quality.
  • Experience with communicating effectively to senior executives internally and externally.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • A passion for innovation, technology and sustainability.
  • Willingness to embrace change and accept new responsibilities, with the ability to work under pressure.

What you'll be doing:

  • Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities to expand the customer base, market share and profitability. This will involve prospecting new clients, developing proposals, negotiating contracts, and forming strategic partnerships.
  • Providing insights and recommendations based on sales data and market analysis.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key clients, research partners and other stakeholders, to understand their needs and anticipate new business opportunities.
  • Working as a proactive member of the business leadership team, aligning closely with Group Leaders to actively drive the future success of the business units.
  • Making regular customer visits, supported by technical specialists, to identify leads, develop new business proposals and deliver commercially successful projects.
