We are seeking a dedicated Senior Residential Care Officer to join our team. This role is crucial in providing high-quality care and support to children and young people within our residential services. Day-to-day of the role:
  • Work under the supervision of the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager, taking on supervisory duties and a shift leader role.
  • Contribute to the staff development and training within the team.
  • Provide a warm, caring, and enabling environment that meets the emotional, social, and physical needs of the children.
  • Play an active role in the senior team, working alongside the manager and deputy to ensure the effective running of the home.
  • Advocate for the children and demonstrate a "good parent role," especially when dealing with complex behaviours.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Must be qualified with a Level 3 TQUK Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent.
  • At least 12 months experience in a residential children’s home.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility and resilience to work within a rota that includes weekends and unsocial hours.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Willingness to undertake and complete any required training, including Therapeutic Crisis Intervention.
Benefits:
  • Salary inclusive of an 8.5% allowance for unsocial working hours, bringing the total to £35,438 - £39,319.
  • Additional payment of £40.77 per sleep-in shift, with an average of 4 shifts per month.
  • South Yorkshire Pension Authority contributions.
  • Overtime over 37 hours paid at time and a quarter.
  • Opportunities for further learning and development, including the possibility to complete the Level 5 TQUK Diploma in Leadership and Management.
