Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children?

We are currently looking for compassionate, dedicated Residential Child Care Officers to join our team in both new and existing children's homes across Doncaster. These homes are rated "Good" and "Outstanding," benefiting from experienced management teams and offering extensive training and regular supervision to help you thrive in your role.

The Role
As a Residential Child Care Officer, you will play a vital role in providing a safe, nurturing environment that meets the emotional, social, and physical needs of looked-after children and young people. Your work will have a direct impact on their lives, giving them the opportunity to heal, grow, and develop into confident individuals.

This role involves working with young people who may present complex behaviours and, at times, challenging situations. You will be expected to act as a positive role model, advocating for children, and demonstrating a nurturing, "good parent" approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of a dedicated team to provide high-quality care to children and young people.
  • Create a warm, caring, and enabling environment to support their emotional, social, and physical needs.
  • Support children and young people in managing complex behaviours, with understanding and patience.
  • Advocate for the children in your care and ensure their well-being is always the priority.

What We're Looking For:

  • A genuine passion for working with children and young people.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to work within a rota that includes weekends and unsocial hours.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Previous experience working with young people or transferable skills in dealing with complex behaviours is desirable.

What's in it for You?

  • Join a dedicated, passionate team making a real difference in children's lives.
  • Opportunities for professional development and career progression.
  • A supportive, collaborative working environment.
  • Competitive salary and benefits, including up to 33 days annual leave (excluding public holidays), plus the option to join the South Yorkshire Pension Authority.

Apply today to make a positive impact on the future of children and young people in Doncaster!
