Time Recruitment Solutions are proud to be working with a well established food manufacturer based in York.Due to companies ongoing success they are now looking for a Engineering Manager to assist with the day to day running of the state of the art facility which boast's more than 11 acres and is designed to be one of the best energy efficient production facilities in the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- - Team Management: Lead and motivate the engineering team, ensuring support and collaboration to achieve engineering and business KPIs.
- - Staff Development: Assist in recruitment, retention, and development processes to maintain a well-resourced engineering team.
- - Workload Management: Prioritize and manage site engineering activities, delegating tasks for optimal efficiency.
- - Maintenance Compliance: Ensure all plant, equipment, and systems are maintained in accordance with legislative requirements.
- - Issue Resolution: Promptly identify and rectify performance or safety issues affecting plant or equipment.
- - Cost-Effective Stores System: Develop and maintain an efficient engineering stores system.
- - Best Practices: Advocate for industry best practices and the adoption of new technologies where applicable.
- - Food Safety Compliance: Adhere to food safety legislation, guidelines, and company policies.
- - Health, Safety, and Quality: Promote and adhere to company health, safety, and quality regulations.
- - GMP and Housekeeping: Ensure strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and housekeeping standards.
- - Waste Minimization: Control and minimize waste, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
- - Safety and Hygiene: Ensure all completed work is safe, hygienic, and compliant with FSA and health and safety legislation.
- - Record Keeping: Complete all necessary records and paperwork promptly as required by the company.
- - Senior Management Liaison: Communicate effectively with Senior Management Teams regarding any reasonable requests.
- - Personal Development: Drive personal development through training and work-based experience.
- - Additional Duties: Undertake other duties as required within the scope and grade of the post.
- - Preventative Maintenance: Develop and implement preventative maintenance systems and inspections.
- - Risk Assessments: Collaborate with the Health and Safety Officer to develop and implement risk assessments for engineering activities.
- - Food Safety Team: Participate as a member of the site's Food Safety, HACCP, TACCP, and VACCP team.
- - Operational Efficiency: Ensure all machinery and plant operate at optimal speed with minimal production disruption.
- - Health and Safety Responsibility: Oversee all health and safety aspects.
- - Flexible Working Hours: Maintain a flexible approach to working hours, including on-call duties to address out-of-hours issues.
Essential Qualifications / Experience:
- - Excellent communication skills.
- - Driven and motivated.
- - Positive attitude to work colleagues.
- - Relevant qualification in mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- - Extensive practical knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering
- - 16th /17th Edition.
- - Excellent listening, communicating, negotiating and influencing skills.
- - Excellent presentation skills.
- - Excellent organisation skills.
- - Numerate and literate.
- - Excellent project management and planning skills.
- - Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret information to build intelligent sales strategies.
