KS1 Teaching Assistant

Salary: £85-£90 per dayLocation: DN5, Doncaster Role: long-term - potential for permanent opportunities. Reed Education is currently looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant with Key Stage 1 experience to work with one of our partner schools in the DN5 area. Daily responsibilities as a KS1 Teaching Assistant:

  • Work in collaboration with the class teacher to support children to engage in lessons, taking the time to work with children who may need additional support.
  • Work with class teachers and SENCO to support children with EHCP and IEP’s ensuring they receive equitable support to meet their targets.
  • Deliver small group, and 1:1, intervention sessions in key topics such as phonics and numeracy to work towards pupil progress.
  • Monitor and report on individual pupil progress, working with the class teacher to target specific areas of development.

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • A level 2 or 3 teaching assistant qualification.
  • Recent experience working within UK primary schools. (paid or voluntary)
  • An understanding of child development and the KS1 curriculum.
  • An understanding of phonics schemes. (Read, Write, Inc / Little Wandle etc)
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service. (or willingness to obtain one)
