We are seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 1 student with complex SEND needs, including autism. This role requires a resilient individual with strong behaviour management skills and a commitment to making a positive impact on a child’s educational journey.
Day-to-day of the role:- Provide tailored support to a Year 1 student with complex SEND needs, focusing on individual learning and development goals.
- Implement effective behaviour management strategies to foster a safe and positive learning environment.
- Work closely with the classroom teacher to adapt materials and activities to meet the student’s needs.
- Monitor and record the student’s progress, sharing updates with teachers and parents.
- Assist with the development of social skills by encouraging positive interactions in the classroom.
- Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant or similar role, particularly in a SEND setting.
- Strong understanding of autism and effective strategies for behaviour management.
- Resilient and patient approach, with a dedicated commitment to student development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with teachers, parents, and other staff.
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative in a classroom setting.
- Competitive hourly rate of £13.00.
