Reed Education are currently exclusively supporting a lovely primary school in DN9 with their recruitment for a teaching assistant to work in the school's reception class. The school are ideally looking for someone who can start on the 20th January until at least the 4th April. You will work 08:30 until 15:30 and there may be occasional training that you will need to attend. 

The school is one-form entry and the staff within EYFS work extremely closely together to plan, educate and inspire the children and so you would be joining a supportive, friendly and passionate team. The school is led by a great headteacher who has been in post for many years.

Day to Day of the Role:

• Provide a safe, caring, and stimulating environment for children to learn and develop.

• Plan and deliver engaging activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.

• Observe, assess, and record each child’s progress, sharing outcomes with parents and colleagues.

• Maintain a clean and organised setting that meets health and safety standards.

• Collaborate with other team members to create a cohesive and supportive environment.

• Attend staff meetings and participate in training and development opportunities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Level 2 qualification in Childcare or equivalent as a minimum.

• Proven experience working with children, ideally in an Early Years setting.

• An enhanced DBS check with child barred list (this can be applied for through Reed).

• Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and safeguarding procedures.
