Their specialist provision is dedicated to supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly those with Autism and communication challenges.

Role and Responsibilities: They are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join the team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with Autism and communication challenges. Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting students in their learning and development.
  • Implementing individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Utilizing Makaton/BSL to enhance communication (desirable).
  • Collaborating with teachers and SENCO to provide tailored support.
  • Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Assisting with the delivery of the KS1 curriculum.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working with children with SEN, particularly Autism and communication challenges.
  • Knowledge of Makaton/BSL (desirable).
  • Strong understanding of the KS1 curriculum.
  • Resilient, empathetic, and nurturing personality.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
