Electrical Controls Engineer – South Yorkshire
Initial 6-month contract (likely longer) / Outside IR35
Rate £45.00p/h - £47.50 p/h DOE (outside IR35)
Siemens TIA Portal / Heavy Engineering / Materials Handling / Design
I am currently recruiting on behalf of a key client based in South Yorkshire who require a skilled Electrical Controls Engineer to support a major project on an initial 6-month contract (up to 3 years’ worth of work). My client provides full project lifecycle services within medium to heavy engineering industries UK wide.
For the position of Electrical Controls Engineer, you will conduct the following daily duties:
- Program PLC / HMI / SCADA systems primarily using Siemens TIA Portal
- Design of electrical distribution / motor control systems
- Production of FDS / SDS
- Prepare design & tender specs as well as estimates
- Attend client & sub-contractor meetings providing technical knowledge
The successful Electrical Controls Engineer will need to have the following attributes:
- Strong appreciation for controls systems, programming using Siemens TIA Portal
- Hands on experience within heavy engineering & materials handling ideally within Nuclear
- Experience in full project life cycle from initial design
- Strong communication skills working closely with client & subcontractor
