As a Senior Finance Manager, you will be required to:Management Accounts
  • Process month-end journals, accruals, and prepayments using Xero.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts for presentation to the Finance Director and inclusion in the board pack.
  • Conduct variance analysis, identifying key variances and initiating further investigation as necessary.
  • Reconcile all balance sheet accounts monthly.
Cash Flow Management
  • Oversee short-term business cash flow, including reconciliation of an invoice finance facility (prior experience is essential).Authorise payments and manage permissions on the company bank account.
Year-End Accounts
  • Prepare year-end financial statements and supporting documentation for external accountants.
  • Work with external accountants to address queries and ensure timely account preparation.
Reporting
  • Produce monthly financial reports, including updates on sales and purchase ledgers.
  • Provide key financial metrics to support decision-making by the Finance Director.
Team Leadership and Workflow Management
  • Manage and coordinate the workflow of the finance team, ensuring efficient preparation of accounts and financial deliverables.
  • Delegate tasks appropriately and provide guidance to the team.
  • Develop and mentor the finance team to maintain smooth operations.
Support for the Finance Director
  • Ensure timely completion of tasks to support the Finance Director.
  • Deputise in internal meetings when required.
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting.
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Build strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to support effective financial management.
Candidate Requirements:

• Minimum of five years experience working in a finance department, with exposure to the responsibilities listed above.• Proven experience in preparing monthly management accounts and managing cash flow, including invoice finance facilities.• Strong proficiency in Excel (essential); experience with Xero (desirable).• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team, with strong organisational and communication skills.• High level of discretion and trustworthiness, given access to sensitive financial data and bank accounts.• A proactive, team-oriented approach with the ability to work independently and support leadership goals.
