Finance Manager – Doncaster DN4

A for Appointments is excited to be partnering with an award-winning financial services company based in Doncaster. They are seeking a driven and ambitious Finance Manager to join their fast-growing team. In this dynamic role, you’ll be responsible for delivering timely and accurate management accounting information, performing analysis, and contributing to the smooth and efficient running of the finance department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the production of monthly management accounts and provide commentary to meet reporting deadlines for multiple entities.
  • Prepare regular and ad-hoc reports, including weekly cash-flow forecasts and cost analyses.
  • Manage and develop processing and junior reporting staff on a day-to-day basis.
  • Continuously review and improve processes, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Ensure efficient execution of key control activities, including bank controls, reconciliations, VAT returns, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepare regulatory returns.
  • Manage year-end statutory accounts and liaise with auditors.
  • Maintain detailed procedure documents for all responsibilities.

  • Proactive with excellent planning, organisational, and time-management skills.
  • Problem solver with strong attention to detail.
  • Keeps up-to-date with accounting and regulatory standards.
  • Develop a solid understanding of the business and financial landscape.
  • Proficient in Excel.

Qualifications:

  • Progress towards ACA/ACCA/CIMA (advantageous but not essential) – support offered through to completion.
  • AAT qualification is also an advantage.

Technical Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of bookkeeping and management accounts.
