This opportunity is with the businesses furniture department which helps to bring internal spaces to live.

About the role: 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Estimator to join a dynamic and forward-thinking company.

This company specialises in sourcing and supplying the hospitality industry with all FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment) needs. Collaborating with designers and direct clients, we bring hospitality interiors to life. Driven by our passion for design and style, we curate unique and intriguing pieces from around the world. Our 30,000 sq ft warehouse is home to a diverse collection, including vintage and upcycled furniture, lighting, interior accessories, and much more.

We are seeking a candidate who is detail-oriented, enthusiastic, and comfortable working independently or within a team. This role involves supporting clients, as well as both internal and external designers, with product specifications and costings to meet their needs. You will also assist the Commercial Director in business development, participating in sales pitches for new and existing clients on FF&E contracts, and work alongside the Sales Director to help deliver the company's business strategy.

Key responsibilities include preparing FF&E schedules, managing stock procurement, specifying fabrics and finishes, tracking client communications, managing the sales pipeline, and providing monthly forecast reports using our CRM system. Day to day you will:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for estimating inquiries, assessing project scope and size.
  • Lead and develop inspirational design concepts and schemes, using mood boards and imagery to effectively communicate ideas to clients.
  • Demonstrate strong commercial awareness, including setting up Excel schedules, preparing quotations, and managing FF&E budgets for individual interior packages.
  • Oversee quality control for all aspects of the design process, procurement, and supply chain.
  • Ensure projects are properly planned and estimates are delivered on time.
  • Stay informed on emerging trends in the hospitality sector.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of furniture and lighting suppliers, including their products across a range of budgets.
  • Exhibit effective negotiation skills while building strong relationships with both suppliers and clients.
  • Possess experience managing projects from conception through to completion.
  • Provide margin analysis at the point of tender return/adjudication in collaboration with the Commercial Director.
  • Ensure that all project costs and variations are tracked and communicated internally and externally.
  • Assist in managing projects efficiently, ensuring they remain on schedule and within budget by working closely with the project team to deliver on time.
  • Effectively manage project time and workflow to ensure smooth progression.
  • Deliver comprehensive subcontractor and material supplier cost analysis, ensuring compliance and best value.

Requirements

  • Strong problem-solving, organisation and planning skills
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail – verbal & written.
  • Full UK Driving Licence- requirement to travel between sites and trade shows
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft office suite, specifically Word & Excel.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings
  • Ideally educated to degree level with a minimum of 2 years experience.
