Steelwork Estimator

Taylor Stevenson is happy to announce a client of ours who is a very well established, engineering giant within the heavy steels industry with over 30 years experience is in the market and is well known for projects in the Railway, Highways and Construction Industry, working alongside various Tier 1 Contractors!

Due to the consistent growth they're continually seeing year on year, they're looking forStructural Steel/Bridge Estimatorto join them at their Doncaster HQ!

Its a full-time, permanent position in which the client is offering between 40k - 50k DOE!

This would be a great position for someone who has experience in the steelwork sector and can confidently apply their skills, knowledge and experience to other well-known, large scale projects!

This is an autonomous role where you will work closely with the Sales and Estimating team to generate estimates and undertake a range of office responsibilities for bespoke Structural Steel projects. You will undertake occasional site visit but primarily work within the office to quantify steel work from engineering drawings and sub-contract packages.

Job duties include:

• Review and assess from available drawings/specifications/BoQ to the extent of the requirement and/or opportunity on a project-by-project basis
• Prepare and submit competitively priced quotations in accordance with the compliant specification for the Project and if necessary, value engineer the package and secure competitive advantage.
• Submit re-quotes as and when necessary, in strict compliance with any agreed design changes or scheme amendments
• Liaison with main contractors, engineers, architects, suppliers, and internal staff on technical matters
• Development and maintenance of established processes/the New ABI Database and SAP (customer relationship management systems).
• On receipt of new orders to ensure all contract documentation is reviewed and a reply to the order is issued to the client confirming agreed price, payment terms and site attendances.

The type of candidate they're looking for is:

• 3 Years + experience in a similar role
• Someone with structural steelwork experience
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Suite including programmes such as Excel and Word
• Quantity Surveyor (Advantageous)
• Plater/Fabricator (Advantageous)
• Steel Erection (Advantageous)
• Supervision (Advantageous)
• Project Delivery (Advantageous)
• Design (Advantageous)
