About the Role
As a General Supply Teacher, you will cover classes in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring continuity of learning. You will be responsible for delivering pre-set lesson plans, maintaining classroom discipline, and providing support to students across different subjects. Responsibilities for a General Supply Teacher:

  • Deliver engaging lessons across various subjects according to pre-set plans.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively, maintaining a positive learning environment.
  • Support students with their learning and ensure they remain on task.
  • Mark work where required and provide constructive feedback.
  • Report any issues or concerns to the relevant staff members.

Requirements of a General Supply Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage students of all abilities.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to adapt to different subjects and age groups.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
  • Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Updated Service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
