Job Title - Commercial Claims Handler
Salary - £30,000
Location - South Yorkshire
PURPOSE OF ROLE
Lawes Consulting Group are partnering with an expanding insurance broker who are recruiting for a Commercial Claims Handler to join their office due to a period of sustained growth.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of commercial insurance claims, ensuring timely and accurate resolution while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. You will work closely with clients, brokers, and internal teams to assess claims, negotiate settlements, and provide expert guidance throughout the claims process.
EXPERIENCE
- Proven experience of handling commercial claims
- Strong knowledge of commercial insurance products, policies, and claims processes
- Previous experience of using Acturis would be beneficial
SKILLS
- Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Ability to handle workload and manage own diary
DAY-TO-DAY
- Manage end-to-end commercial claims processes, including notification, assessment, and settlement
- Investigate and evaluate claims to determine validity and coverage under policy terms
- Liaise with clients, brokers, and third parties to gather necessary information and documentation
- Negotiate settlements in line with company guidelines and policy terms
- Provide clear and professional communication to clients, keeping them informed throughout the claims process
- Collaborate with internal teams, including underwriters and legal advisors, to resolve complex claims
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for all claims handled
