About the Role:
Our client, a well-established secondary school in Doncaster, is seeking a dedicated and passionate Librarian to join their team starting in September. This is a full-time, permanent position that offers an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in supporting the academic and personal development of students through the management of the school's library resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain the school library, ensuring it is a welcoming and resourceful environment for students and staff.
  • Support and encourage students in their reading and research, helping them to develop information literacy skills.
  • Organize and promote a wide range of reading activities, book clubs, and literacy events to engage students.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to support curriculum needs and integrate library resources into classroom learning.
  • Maintain an up-to-date and diverse collection of books, digital resources, and other materials.
  • Foster a culture of reading within the school by recommending books and materials tailored to different age groups and reading abilities.
  • Ensure the library operates efficiently, including managing budgets, cataloguing new materials, and overseeing the use of the library system.
  • Supervise students during their use of the library, ensuring a safe and positive environment.
