Hawk 3 Talent Solutions are working with an established and well recognised retail business who are currently looking for a Warehouse Manager to join their Doncaster Site! The role requires strong leadership and organisational skills to manage inventory, optimise warehouse processes, and ensure strict compliance with safety standards.
Main Responsibilities of the Warehouse Manager:
Warehouse Operations Management:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, ensuring the safe and efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods.
- Implement warehouse processes and systems to optimise the flow of goods and minimise delays or bottlenecks.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, ensuring all products are stored correctly and available for shipment as needed.
- Plan and manage the movement of products, ensuring timely and accurate order fulfilment.
Team Leadership:
- Supervise, train, and mentor warehouse staff, ensuring all employees understand their roles and responsibilities.
- Organise shift schedules and assign tasks to ensure proper coverage and efficient operations.
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and support the professional development of team members.
Safety & Compliance:
- Enforce and promote a Health and Safety culture.
- Monitor and maintain warehouse equipment, ensuring safe operation and compliance with maintenance schedules.
- Conduct safety inspections and organise training to promote a safe working environment.
Process Improvement:
- Continuously evaluate warehouse operations and standard operating procedures (SOPs), identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase productivity, reduce costs, and enhance overall efficiency.
- Stay updated on the latest warehouse technologies and methodologies to optimize operations.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare and maintain reports on warehouse performance.
- Maintain accurate documentation related to warehouse operations, including shipping and receiving records, safety inspections, and equipment maintenance logs.
Budget & Cost Control:
- Assist in budgeting and financial planning related to warehouse operations.
- Monitor costs and expenses, seeking opportunities to reduce operational costs without compromising quality or safety.
Experience and Skills required
- Proven leadership and organisational skills
- Extensive experience in warehouse management and logistics
- Proficiency in supply chain operations and warehouse management systems
- Knowledge of shipping and receiving processes
- Familiarity with profit & loss management and business processes
- Experience with transportation management systems and ERP systems
- Ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Forklift operation certification and relevant warehouse experience is an advantage
