MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE ENGINEER

MONDAY - FRIDAY:

£40,000 PER ANNUM

People Solutions are looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for our client based in Doncaster.

Day to Day Duties

  • Routine Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance tasks on mechanical equipment and systems to ensure they operate efficiently and avoid unexpected breakdowns
  • Troubleshooting and Repairs: Diagnose mechanical issues and perform necessary repairs on faulty machinery, components, or systems, ensuring minimal downtime
  • Inspection and Monitoring: Conduct inspections of machinery, components, and mechanical systems to identify potential problems, wear and tear, or safety hazards
  • Preventive Maintenance Planning: Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to improve equipment reliability and extend its operational lifespan
  • Equipment Upgrades: Recommend and oversee upgrades or modifications to existing mechanical systems to improve performance, efficiency, and safety
  • Spare Parts Management: Monitor and manage spare parts inventory, ensuring critical parts are available when needed for repairs or replacements
  • Technical Documentation: Maintain detailed maintenance logs, reports, and equipment records, documenting all repairs, inspections, and modifications
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with industry safety standards and regulations, following protocols to minimize risks
  • Collaboration with Teams: Work closely with production, engineering, and operations teams to ensure seamless coordination during equipment downtime or repairs
  • Root Cause Analysis: Investigate recurring issues or significant breakdowns, conducting root cause analysis to prevent future occurrences and improve system reliability
  • Energy Efficiency and Cost Control: Identify opportunities for reducing energy consumption, improving equipment efficiency, and minimizing maintenance costs without compromising performance

Essential Skills

  • Mechanical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, machinery, and components, including how they function, and how to diagnose and fix issues
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot mechanical problems quickly and develop effective solutions to repair or optimize equipment
  • Preventive Maintenance: Ability to plan and implement preventive maintenance strategies to improve equipment reliability and reduce the likelihood of breakdowns
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with industry standards, mechanical blueprints, and engineering drawings, as well as proficiency with maintenance tools and equipment
  • Attention to Detail: Precision in inspecting equipment, diagnosing issues, and maintaining detailed maintenance records to ensure long-term system performance
  • Electrical and Hydraulic Systems Knowledge: Basic understanding of electrical and hydraulic systems is often required since many mechanical systems integrate these technologies

Desirable Experience

  • Previous experience within the Construction Industry would be desirable
