York£40,000 - £45,000 + Training Relocation Package + BenefitsAre you an experienced grower or agricultural professional looking to take the next step in your career? Do you have a strong background in crop production and a passion for delivering high-quality fresh produce?On offer is the opportunity to join a leading fresh produce business as a Grower Manager, where you will oversee the growing team and work closely with the Operations Director and Growing Consultant to ensure efficient crop production. You will be responsible for implementing climate control and fertigation strategies, training new team members, and ensuring all growing operations are completed on time. This role is pivotal in maintaining high-quality standards, optimising yield potential, and supporting the business's ongoing expansion.In this role, you will lead a team of operatives, ensure compliance with food safety and health regulations, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. You will also participate in planning meetings, conduct crop walks to identify pests and diseases, and enforce excellent health and safety practices. This position requires strong leadership skills, the ability to make confident decisions, and a proactive approach to farm management.This role would suit an experienced grower or agricultural professional with a background in horticulture or crop production, looking for a long-term and stable position in a fast-paced environment.The Role:

  • Overseeing all growing operations and ensuring crops are produced on time
  • Implementing climate control and fertigation strategies
  • Develop and implement effective pest and disease control strategies, ensuring crop health and maximising yield.
  • Ensure all growing activities adhere to food safety, health & safety, and environmental regulations, including HACCP and BRC standards.
  • Work closely with harvesting teams to align growing schedules with production demands, ensuring timely delivery to customers.

The Person:

  • Experience in crop production, soft fruit, or horticulture
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills
  • Understanding of food safety and health regulations
  • Flexible approach to working hours, including weekend.
