Description

The Product and Materials Development Manager will:

  • Lead and manage a diverse team across within the Laboratory and Quality Assurance teams
  • Monitor and oversee testing of all raw material
  • Identify opportunities for process and system enhancements
  • Coordinate and oversee process improvement initiatives
  • Cost reduction and rationalisation of raw material
  • Foster strong relationships with our raw material suppliers to ensure we are at the forefront of new developments
  • Construct and manage a database of product testing information
  • R&D on papers and recipes in relation to product performance
  • Support investigation of quality complaints to establish root cause and develop future controls

Profile

The successful Product and Materials Development Manager will possess a range of the following:

  • Proven experience within a Laboratory Services or Product Development position
  • Experience within the paper, packaging or ink manufacturing industries (essential)
  • Proven experience in managing teams within a fast pace manufacturing business
  • Ability to communicate across all levels and functions within a business
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with external supplier
  • Relevant degree such as Material Science or similar
