Senior Operations Manager (Inbound) – South Yorkshire
Location: South Yorkshire
Salary: Circa £65,000
Venatu Recruitment Group is proud to partner with a leading distribution and wholesale company in search of an experienced Senior Operations Manager (Inbound). This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic National Distribution Centre at a time of significant growth.
We are looking for a strong leader with a proven track record in managing large teams within a fast-paced distribution environment. Must have strong background experience inbound departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- As Senior Operations Manager (Inbound), you will:
- Oversee all inbound operations within the National Distribution Centre (NDC)
- Lead and develop Very Narrow Aisle (VNA) teams in a 24-hour operation
- Manage and develop your warehouse management team, ensuring efficiency, service levels, and quality standards are met
- Improve stock quality, put-away accuracy, and VNA pick accuracy
- Drive cost savings and operational efficiency against budgeted targets
- Enhance KPIs to improve overall performance
- Plan daily resources, managing holiday and absence cover with temporary staff and overtime planning
- Set performance targets and conduct regular team reviews
- Focus on team development and succession planning
- Ensure compliance with Recruitment, HR processes, and company policies
- Promote Health & Safety compliance and foster a proactive safety culture
- Conduct weekly operational and safety audits, identifying and addressing issues
Skills & Experience Required:
Minimum 3 years of leadership experience, managing teams of 80+ employees
Excellent communication and influencing skills
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
Experience in a fast-moving distribution environment, making data-driven decisions
