Elevation Recruitment are working with a leading plastic injection moulding manufacturer based near Doncaster to help them recruit Design Engineer. The company specialises in producing high-quality plastic building products.

Role Overview:As a Design Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing and developing innovative plastic components and tooling for injection moulding processes. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop plastic components and injection mould tools using 3D CAD software (SolidWorks)
  • Conduct feasibility studies to ensure product designs meet functional, manufacturability, and cost requirements
  • Collaborate with customers and internal teams to understand design specifications and requirements
  • Optimize product designs to enhance performance, quality, and efficiency in production
  • Create detailed technical drawings, specifications, and BOMs for manufacturing
  • Work closely with the tooling team to ensure alignment between design and manufacturing capabilities
  • Perform design validation, including FEA, prototyping, and testing, to ensure compliance with industry standards
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving design or manufacturing issues during development and production phases
  • Stay updated on the latest technologies and materials in the plastic injection moulding industry

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field
  • Proven experience in plastic injection moulding design and manufacturing processes
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks
  • Strong understanding of plastic materials, mould flow analysis, and DFM principles
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements related to injection moulding
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality designs
