Established Buyer | High Performance Brand | Beauty Industry | Yorkshire | Hybrid Working | Circa £40,000

A dynamic business that has more than doubled in revenue over the past year, and is scaling quickly as they look ahead to even bigger plans. To support this incredible growth and ensure they continue on their trajectory, they are seeking a seasoned, commercially-driven Buyer who can strategically shape product ranges, drive key negotiations, and help lead the business to new heights.Key Requirements:

  • Prepare and present lessons learned and key strategic insights to Senior Management, ensuring alignment across all teams and driving continuous improvement.

  • Identify the best and worst indicators, and ensuring these are communicated clearly to the wider team to drive success.

  • Take full ownership of your categories and be accountable for both performance and day-to-day trading.

  • Collaborate internally to review and build clear pricing architectures, plan seasonal buys, and design balanced product ranges that resonate with the customer.

  • Spot gaps in existing product offerings and react quickly to emerging opportunities, ensuring the business stays ahead of the curve.

  • Push for continuous innovation within the product range-challenging the team to introduce new colours, prints, shapes, and styles while protecting best sellers.

  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, ensuring the onboarding of new suppliers, and identify opportunities for more sustainable fabric sourcing.

  • Drive newness and profitability through effective test and trial methods, using both historical and current data to support commercial decisions.

  • Deliver exceptional trading performance at both margin level and cash sales, always looking for ways to improve profitability and efficiency.
  • Work closely with your merchandiser to manage OTB, seasonal budgets, and forecasts, ensuring we stay on track to meet key business objectives.
  • Oversee the critical path and delivery schedule, ensuring product launches happen on time and with maximum impact.

  • Lead cross-costing projects that protect and improve margin, driving sustainable growth in a competitive market.

Skills & Experience:

  • Extensive experience in category management, with a strong understanding of trading and merchandising principles.

  • A track record of driving profitable growth in high-performance teams, ideally in the retail or fashion industry.

  • Strong negotiation skills, with a commercial mindset and the ability to balance creative and business needs.

  • Experience in working with Far East suppliers.

  • Proven success with OTB, budget management, margin protection, and delivering results from a trading perspective.

  • The ability to lead cross-functional teams, oversee critical paths, and ensure timely product launches.

  • A deep understanding of data analytics and performance reporting to inform strategic decision-making.
