Job Title: Part-Time Finance Assistant
Location: Doncaster
Salary: £28,000 - £33,000 pro rata (depending on experience)
Hours: Flexible, 20-25 hours per week
Summary of Position:
Our client, a construction sub-contractor, is looking for a Part-Time Finance Assistant to join their team. The Part-Time Finance Assistant will be expected to support the Finance Manager across a range of finance tasks, being extremely organised, task-oriented, and self-motivated.
The responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Processing subcontractor applications for payment, raising certificates, ensuring payment is made within agreed timescales.
- Maintain the internal purchase order system, analyse, and ensure all invoices are processed accurately.
- Perform monthly reconciliation between Construction Manager project expenditure and sage.
- Processing and checking invoices.
- Matching purchase orders and checking deliveries.
- Preparation and review of payment runs.
- Management of supplier accounts including payment details, outstanding invoices, queries, etc.
- Liaise with external suppliers and internal departments regarding queries and disputes.
- Daily monitoring of the email inbox.
- Reconcile statements, requesting documents where required.
- Checking invoices received through Sage auto entry system are accurately processed.
- Bank reconciliations.
- Checking and submitting monthly CIS return.
- Raising sales certificates and invoices as directed.
- Allocating sales receipts.
- Assist with month end duties as directed by the Finance Manager.
- Liaise with Customers regarding outstanding retentions.
Skills, Experience & Key Candidate Attributes:
- Experience within a similar role.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office, Excel and Sage 50/200.
- Previous experience in the construction industry would be beneficial.
- Ability to perform to deadlines for colleagues and customers.
- Ability to multitask across multiple projects at once with conflicting priorities.
- Excellent planning and scheduling skills, with strong priority management and accurate attention to detail.
- Flexible, 'can-do’ attitude and a team player.
