Academics are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Secondary School Teaching Assistant to join our team of supply staff to work across our partner schools in Doncaster. About the Role:As a Secondary School Teaching Assistant in Doncaster, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), ensuring they have access to a positive and inclusive learning environment. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing 1:1 or small group support to learners, both in and out of the classroom.
  • Assisting with the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and tailored learning strategies.
  • Promoting positive behaviour and engagement among all students.
  • Collaborating with teachers and other staff to create a supportive and nurturing learning environment.
  • Upholding the school's policies and procedures to the highest standard, ensuring the safety and well-being of all students at all times.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Holds a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
  • Has experience working in a secondary school environment.
  • Possesses a strong understanding of SEND and experience supporting students with additional needs.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Is flexible, adaptable, and able to use their initiative.
  • Additional qualifications such as Team Teach or Positive Handling are desirable but not essential.
