Day-to-Day of the Role

As an SEN School Facilities Assistant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for our pupils and staff. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring all facilities are compliant with fire safety regulations and conducting regular safety checks.
  • Managing access to the school premises, confidently handling keys and security systems.
  • Supporting the unique needs of our pupils by creating an accommodating and supportive environment.
  • Collaborating with teaching staff to ensure that the physical environment supports our educational goals.
  • Participating in ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in SEN support.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Proven experience in a facilities role within an educational setting, preferably with exposure to SEN.
  • A strong desire to support children with special educational needs and go above and beyond in your role.
  • Confidence in managing fire safety protocols and school security systems.
  • Must possess a DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing needs.
