Supervising Social Worker:


We are working on behalf of a leading fostering agency committed to providing safe, nurturing, and supportive homes for children. They are dedicated to safeguarding children's welfare and ensuring they have the best possible opportunities to thrive.
Job Purpose:
As a Supervising Social Worker, you will play a crucial role in delivering an effective fostering service that promotes positive outcomes for looked-after children. You will be responsible for managing your own caseload while overseeing the recruitment, assessment, training, and support of foster carers.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster Carer Management: Recruit, assess, and monitor the suitability of foster carers, ensuring they provide a safe and nurturing environment for children.
  • Safeguarding: Implement and monitor safeguarding practices to protect children's welfare and comply with statutory requirements.
  • Training and Support: Provide training and ongoing support to foster carers, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to meet the needs of the children in their care.
  • Case Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and policies.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other professionals, including social workers, education staff, and healthcare providers, to ensure the best possible outcomes for children.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Social Work qualification (BA or MA)
  • Registration with Social Work England
  • Proven experience in fostering or child protection
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and child welfare issues
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
