Job Title: Senior Respite Support Worker

Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum (depending on experience) - starting salary is £25,969.00 plus an all-inclusive allowance of 8.5% sleep ins are paid at £40 .27.

Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (flexible working required)

About the Role:

We are seeking a calm, resourceful, and energetic individual to join our friendly team as a Respite Co-ordinator. This role involves the day-to-day management of Eden Lodge and Wickett Hern Rd, ensuring a high-quality short stay service in line with Care Quality Commission and CDC contractual residential standards. In the absence of the Registered Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure day-to-day care and support reflect high-quality standards, including cleanliness, comfort, safety, participation, involvement, privacy, dignity, and choice.
  • Implement and support outcome-based, person-centred support plans.
  • Address concerns about the alleged abuse of adults at risk, following South Yorkshire safeguarding adults’ procedures.
  • Participate actively in handovers, meetings, and individual reviews.
  • Manage staff members, including supervision, training, and mentoring.
  • Support individuals with daily living needs and encourage independence through new activities and opportunities.

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care (Level 4 desirable).
  • Strong written and verbal English skills.
  • Willingness to participate in training and development opportunities.
  • Experience in Health & Social Care.
  • Experience working with individuals with learning disabilities/ADHD.
  • Knowledge of relevant national strategies, Health and Social Care legislation, and initiatives.
  • Proficiency in IT systems, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and service user recording systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding processes and medication best practices.

Desirable:

  • Experience in varied services, including residential and day care.
  • Experience working within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Awareness of the Community Led Support Model.
  • Experience with dementia, challenging behaviours, and positive behaviour support plans.
  • Ability to provide motivational support and demonstrate personal accountability and resilience.
