We are seeking passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants with BSL experience to join our dynamic team at a leading school in Doncaster. Day-to-day of the role:

  • Work closely with teachers to deliver tailored support to students with special educational needs.
  • Use Makaton and British Sign Language (BSL) to communicate effectively with students.
  • Implement trauma-informed practices to support the emotional and educational development of students.
  • Assist in the creation of a nurturing and stimulating environment that meets the diverse needs of deaf students and those with additional needs.
  • Participate in training and development sessions to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a similar SEN Teaching Assistant role or a transferable position.
  • Confidence and a proactive approach to supporting children with special needs.
  • Proficiency in Makaton and BSL.
  • Training in trauma-informed practices.
  • A DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
