SEN Teaching Assistant

Veritas are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join one of our partner schools in Doncaster. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Teacher and pupils in the school to help provide tailored support to students with a range of Special Educational Needs.

The role:

  • You will be supporting a class of between 6 - 10 pupils, assisting the teacher supporting the pupils in the class.
  • Assist the call teacher in planning and delivering personalised material and learning activities.
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with a tailored approach.
  • Support pupils in the class with any social, emotional and communicational skills.
  • Help monitor students progress and feedback to the teacher
  • Help the class teacher manage any classroom behaviour to ensure it is a safe environment.

Ideal Candidate

  • Experience working with Children with special educational needs (preferably in an Educational setting but not essential)
  • Strong understanding of SEN and different techniques to manage the pupils needs.
  • Patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to understand and react to pupils' reactions and physical emotions.
