Pearson Whiffin is recruiting for a Purchasing Manager on behalf of our client, a reputable company within the construction industry, based in Doncaster.

As a Purchasing Manager, you will be a key part of the purchasing team, responsible for managing the procurement of goods and services to support business operations. This role requires strong negotiation skills, supplier management experience, and the ability to ensure cost-effective purchasing while maintaining quality standards.

Duties for this role include but are not limited to:

  • Manage the tender process, including supplier research, negotiations, and contract agreements
  • Identify and source new and existing products and services to align with business needs
  • Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships, conducting performance evaluations and addressing any issues.
  • Generate and present procurement reports, including cost analysis, performance metrics, and key insights.
  • Stay informed on industry regulations, ensuring all procurement activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Take ownership of assigned product categories, collaborating with sales and operations to drive profitability and growth.

To be considered for this role, you will have/be:

  • Prior experience in purchasing and supply chain management
  • Strong budgeting expertise
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • CIPS qualified or working towards
  • Supplier relationship management
