Job Description: School Cleaning Staff - Epworth

Hours:Monday to Friday

  • 6:30 am - 8:30 am
  • 2:40 pm - 5:10 pm

Total: 22.5 hours per weekIncludes working during school holidays

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize and carry out all allocated work to meet cleaning requirements.
  • Undertake necessary training and instruction for cleaning staff.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and work in accordance with safe working practices.

Cleaning Duties:

  • Rooms: Clean and disinfect sinks, countertops, toilets, mirrors, floors, etc. Replenish bathroom supplies. Polish metalwork, including fixtures and fittings.
  • Floors: Sweep, mop, vacuum floors using brushes, mops, vacuum cleaners, and automated floor polishers. Additional tasks may include scrubbing, waxing, and polishing floors.
  • Dusting: Dust furniture, equipment, partitions, etc.
  • Waste Management: Empty waste bins and recyclables, transporting them to the disposal area.
  • Cleaning Carpets & Upholstery: Clean rugs, carpets, and upholstered furniture using a vacuum cleaner. Wash walls, woodwork, windows, door panels, partitions, sills, etc.
  • Litter Picking: Perform litter picking internally and externally.
  • Movement of Equipment: Handle movement of equipment specific to the role.
  • General Housekeeping: Maintain cleanliness of the entire site, including toilets and recreational areas.
  • Incident Management: Handle and clean spillages, sickness, and other incidents.

Relationship Building:

  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with staff, students, visitors, and any other relevant personnel.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Carry out any other duties in line with the responsibilities of the role.
  • Comply with Health and Safety Regulations.

This role is essential for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all users of the facilities.
