The client is flexible with working and is virtual first, but there will be a requirement to be in an office which can be either in Dorset or Andover.

This role is a 12-month fixed-term contract with maternity cover.

Hours 8.30 - 5pm

To support the Management Accounts team in providing a professional Financial Service. Including the preparation and monitoring of budgets, processing of accruals, prepayments and other provisions, and the production of monthly accounts.

Key Accountabilities

Management Accounts

Assist in preparation of monthly management accounts to meet agreed deadlines.

  • Prepare and post monthly journals.
  • Running adhoc reports as requested.
  • Analyse management accounts with the assistance of the Management Accountant in order to create budget statements in preparation for monthly management accounts meeting with budget holders.
  • Carrying out reconciliations to cost centers, identifying reasons for adverse profit positions.
  • Providing budget holders with support in understanding their management accounts.
  • Assist in providing accurate and timely information to the service charge team.
  • Support the Management Accountant in the budget/forecast setting process.
  • Ensure the accurate billing of both internal and external customers.
  • Bring to the attention of the Management Accountant any areas of concern/issues that need to be addressed.
  • Work with other members of the Finance team to improve the functionality of the business area.
  • Comply with financial regulations, policy and procedures.
  • Provide customers with accurate, timely, relevant and detailed information when requested.

Financial Accounts

  • Completion of balance sheet reconciliations including supporting control accounts and reconciliations.
  • Assist in the preparation of the component accounting return to Group according to the agreed deadline.
  • Maintenance of the fixed asset register to ensure all cost codes are updated against relevant assets.
  • Perform quarterly fixed asset audits.

General

  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and professional accounting standards.
  • Promote and maintain a customer focus in line with the company Group Customer Charter.
  • Promote and maintain an active approach to health and safety, in respect of yourself, colleagues and customers.
  • Ensure that the Group Equality & Diversity Policy is fully implemented at all times.

Experience and Qualifications

  • GCSE Maths and English Grade A*-C
  • Qualified in or working to towards AAT or similar qualifications
  • All-round knowledge Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word etc)
  • Must have experience in a finance team in previous roles
  • Ability to effectively manage relationships with key partners, stakeholders and colleagues
  • Strong organisational skills, including ability to prioritise own workload and that of others in a pressurised environment to tight deadlines
  • Confident in building relationships and engaging with non-financial teams
  • A Team player is a must
