Audio Visual Installation/Service Engineer
Location: South Coast (Portsmouth - Exeter) United Kingdom

We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, an Audio Visual Installation/Service Engineer to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to work with a leading company in the audio and audio-visual sector.

Role Purpose:
The successful candidate will provide first-class installation and service cover across the South Coast of the UK. You will ensure all work is completed to the highest standards, adhering to work instructions and site requirements. From diagnosing and resolving system faults to delivering outstanding installation and service support, this role is integral to ensuring client satisfaction and project success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake sound system installations and service calls, working alone or as part of a team.
  • Accurately diagnose faults in audio and audio-visual systems, providing recommendations or escalating as necessary.
  • Report any site issues promptly to the Operations Team or Project Manager.
  • Complete all paperwork accurately, including marking up plans and timely submission to the office.
  • Maintain stock levels and equipment for the company vehicle.
  • Deliver equipment to site and support other engineers as required.
  • Adhere to all health and safety protocols, including completing relevant documentation.
  • Act as a lead engineer on installations when required, supporting less experienced colleagues in their development.
  • Undertake vehicle checks and ensure the safe transport of equipment.

Person Specification:

  • 2-3 years' experience in audio and audio-visual installation, ideally in a commercial environment.
  • Full driving licence (held for at least 5 years preferred).
  • Comfortable working at height and in physically demanding environments.
  • Professional, reliable, and flexible, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Experience working on construction sites and familiarity with power tools/hand tools.
  • Flexible with working hours, including early mornings, late evenings, or overnight shifts.
  • Willingness to travel and work away from home as required.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • CSCS/ECS Card and Asbestos Awareness (training can be provided).
  • IPAF/PASMA and Working at Height qualifications (training available).

Skills Required:

  • Excellent fault-finding, troubleshooting, and maintenance/repair skills for audio-visual systems.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to plan and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Ability to interpret and mark up site drawings accurately.
  • Attention to detail and a methodical, neat approach to work.
  • Good geographical knowledge of the UK.
  • Self-motivated with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Benefits:

  • Working Hours: 48 hours per week (Monday to Friday).
  • Salary: 30,000 to 35,000 per annum
  • Holidays: 25 days per year plus bank holidays, with an additional day off for your birthday.
