Our client provides, innovative fully managed solutions within the automotive fleet management sector. We are seeking an experienced Head of Projects to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight across multiple projects. This role is responsible for ensuring projects align with business objectives, are delivered within scope, budget, and timelines, and that project management practices are consistently applied across the organisation.

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensure all projects align with company strategy and deliver measurable business value.
  • Directly manage and mentor Project Managers and senior team members to ensure high performance.
  • Develop a cohesive team culture that promotes collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the entire project lifecycle, project execution, ensuring adherence to plans, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Manage project resources, including personnel, materials, and equipment.
  • Facilitate issue resolution by coordinating with team members and stakeholders.
  • Act as a senior escalation point for client relationships; ensure client expectations are met or exceeded consistently across all projects.
  • Engage regularly with senior stakeholders internally and externally to communicate progress, risks, opportunities, and outcomes.
  • Maintain full accountability for project budgets across the portfolio; ensure financial targets are met.
  • Prepare forecasts for resource allocation, revenue projections, and cost management across projects.
  • Implement robust governance frameworks to maintain high standards of quality assurance across all projects.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices in project management.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment, promoting open communication and problem-solving.
  • Provide guidance, support, and feedback to team members to enhance their skills and performance.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5 years’ experience in a Project Management role or relevant background
  • Relevant professional certification (PMP, Prince2, MSP or agile)
  • Strong Leadership and Motivation
  • Effective Communication, ability to clearly communicate project plans, progress, and issues to stakeholders
  • Ability to hold teams to account and drive objectives
  • Adaptability and Flexibility, adapt to changing project requirements.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, confident communicator at all levels.
  • Solid experience implementing and driving improvements to project management methodologies and frameworks.
  • Governance and Financial acumen with experience of handling multifaceted budgets.
  • Managing risk, proficient in identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risk.
  • Resource and Budget Management: Experienced in managing project resources, including personnel, materials, and budget, to ensure efficient use and cost control.
  • Organisational and Time management, highly organised with exceptional time management skills ensuring projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Experience of using digital Project Management tools, MS Project or similar.
  • Strong working knowledge of common IT software (Power BI, Word, Excel, E Mail, Visio, Internet).
  • Analytical and problem solving oriented.
