Position: Electrical Design EngineerLocation: Dorchester

Role Overview:As a Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical solutions tailored for our robot-based systems. Collaborating closely with multiple departments, your electrical knowledge and expertise will be critical in delivering safe and effective solutions to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design electrical solutions for electromechanical systems.
  • Utilise EPLAN electrical design software to create electrical schematics and 2D electrical panel layouts.
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure designs meet client requirements and industry standards.
  • Occasionally assist the workshop team with fault-finding and troubleshooting.
  • Generate and manage technical documentation in accordance with our product development process.
  • Travel to client sites across the UK, particularly within the defence and aerospace sectors.

About You:

  • Qualifications: Degree, HND, or HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Previous experience in an electrical design role or a position requiring electrical design skills.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficient in creating electrical schematics and 2D panel layouts.
    • Experience with EPLAN electrical design software.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Communication Skills: Effective communicator with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, capable of providing detailed technical information in both written and verbal English.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Natural aptitude for problem-solving and a willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Additional Requirements: Possess a valid UK driving licence, and be willing to get hands-on when required.
