Our client is a leader in industrial automation specialising in robotics within the aerospace sector. They are based in the scenic town of Dorchester and are renowned for solving complex industrial and engineering challenges.

Day-to-day of the role:

Oversee the finance function, managing the work of existing finance colleagues.
Provide counsel to the board on the company’s financial position.
Use expertise to guide the board in supporting both short-term and long-term organisational success.
Liaise with both external and internal stakeholders at all levels, ensuring clear communication about internal financial policies and procedures.
Manage and oversee monthly and annual payroll activities.
Ensure compliance with legal requirements of the finance function, including VAT transactions and quarterly returns.
Conduct financial modelling for forecasting, variance analysis, and budgeting.
Maintain development cost portfolios and conduct impairment reviews.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualification, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in finance.
Strong understanding of accounting treatments for work in progress and long-term contracts.
Experience with Sage 50 accounts and Sage payroll.
Demonstrable experience in financial management within a high-growth manufacturing/engineering environment.
Exceptional skills in financial modelling and managing complex finance functions.
Excellent interpersonal abilities and proven capability to collaborate in a cross-functional project environment.
Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
Proficiency with MS Office applications, especially Excel.
