REED are working in partnership with an innovative technology company based near Dorchester. As a leading design company they are actively recruiting for a Finance Manager (ACCA / ACA /CIMA Qualified) to join the leadership team and become a valuable member of the wider business

Hybrid working - Perm Salary £50k - £60k 

The role

You will be a qualified accountant who has managed complex finance functions previously, ideally within a high growth manufacturing/engineering environment. As Finance Manager, you will be instrumental in providing counsel to the board on the current financial position of the company. You will use your experience and insight to provide guidance to the board in supporting the short-term and long-term success of the company.

You will be a natural leader, a great communicator and comfortable with liaising with external and internal stakeholders at all levels, providing accurate insight to staff around internal financial policies and procedures.

About you

  • ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualified accountant, ideally with a minimum of 10 years of experience in finance.
  • A good understanding of accounting treatment of work in progress and long-term contracts is essential.
  • Experienced with overseeing and managing monthly, and annual, payroll activity.
  • Excellent understanding of the legal submissions and requirements of a finance function.
  • Experienced with Sage 50 accounts and Sage payroll.
  • Previous experience with reviewing VAT transactions and filing quarterly VAT returns.
  • Demonstratable experience with financial modelling for forecasting, variance analysis and budgeting.
  • Having practice experience would be highly desirable.
  • Previous experience with maintenance of development cost portfolios and impairment reviews would be highly advantageous.
  • Proven ability to manage own time and prioritise tasks based on high level project milestones and objectives
  • Excellent interpersonal abilities and proven ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional project environment
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills (working language is English)
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Visio), and expert with Excel.
