Finance Manager

My client is a Local Authority on the South Coast who are looking to appoint a talented Finance Manager on a Contract basis.

About the role:

Based in the Dorset:

The main part of the role will be to initially support the current Finance Manager in post through the early parts of the year end processes until Mid-April and then to take on the interim position of Finance Manager for Children's Services.

What's on offer:

  • Salary: £500 - £600 per day, inside IR35.

  • Remote working. Contract type: Contract (37 hrs a week)
  • Hours: 09:00 -17:30 Monday to Friday

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of Accountants in delivering this finance service for Childrens Social Care, and in collaboration with other Finance Managers will compile and monitor the annual budget and financial plans across the Council.
  • Lead the production of financial reports and information for service area to ensure accurate financial information is available and financial results are monitored effectively.
  • Plan, direct and monitor the work of the finance team, to ensure the proper financial administration of the service unit in accordance with policies, strategies and procedures.

About you:You will have the following experiences:

  • Professional accountancy qualification e.g. CIPFA, CA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent.
  • Substantial and varied post qualification experience in a large, complex organisation.
  • Extensive experience of providing financial advice and support to senior stakeholders and business leaders.
  • Experience of managing a professional team.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of public sector finance, financial regulations, and reporting requirements.
