Juice Cheltenham is delighted to be supporting a leading organisation in their search for a Regional HR Advisor. This role will be covering my clients 12 branches, across the South and South West region. You’ll be based from home but will typically spend four days out of five visiting the branches in your region

The Role

We are looking for an experienced HR professional, who thrives in a 'hands-on’ role, for our South and South West region. It’s a rewarding role where you’ll be at the centre of significant decisions and directly enabling our future success.

Supporting the Head of HR in delivering an efficient and effective HR support and advisory service across the whole business, you’ll be the first point of contact in your region, advising on all people-related issues and contributing to the development of policies and procedures. To effectively do so, you will call on your exceptional interpersonal skills to build and nurture strong internal relationships.

You’ll be used to working in a fast-paced, results driven organisation, juggling priorities, providing timely advice and guidance based on company policy, employment law and best practice.

Responsibilities

  • Advising, coaching, and guiding Managers on how to proceed with any absence, performance, conduct, grievance, and capability issues following best practices, and ensuring compliance with employment law.
  • Building good relationships with Managers, Directors, and Regional HR Colleagues.
  • Organising and managing all aspects of our family-friendly processes for staff in your region, including maternity, paternity, adoption, parental and unpaid leave, ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed.
  • Responding efficiently to ad-hoc HR related queries on a day-to-day basis, managing your diary to ensure best use of your time.

Requirements

  • To be successful in this role you will have experience of working in Human Resources in an Employee Relations Advisor role or something very similar.
  • You will have experience of handling a variety of Employee Relations issues, preferably with a blue-collar workforce.
  • CIPD qualified, you will demonstrate knowledge of legal requirements and best practice ideas be a confident communicator and skilled influencer who quickly engages with staff at all levels, building effective working relationships.

In addition, you will demonstrate:

  • A high level of attention to detail
  • A working understanding of UK Employment Law
  • The ability to use Microsoft Office efficiently
  • Resilience and an ability to work under pressure
  • A flexible approach, being able to adapt to changing requirements, including where there’s ambiguity
  • An ability to maintain confidentiality and act with discretion

Frequent travel will be required across the operational network and overnight stays will be likely. You’ll typically need to be present in the branches from 7am (sometimes earlier) but early starts will of course mean an earlier finish than for many HR roles.
