Location: Dorset, with opportunities across the South Coast

Salary: £30,000 pa +, Depending on Experience

My client, a respected consultancy firm based in Bournemouth, is seeking a talented and motivated Town Planner to join their team. Specialising in land and property development, the company offers a comprehensive consultancy service that spans conception and acquisition through planning and development to profit and exit. My client is also considering mroe Senior Town Planners, up to Associate Directors.

As a Town Planner, you will play a pivotal role in providing expert planning advice and practical solutions to landowners and developers seeking planning permission. The company's approach integrates technical expertise, insider knowledge of local authority processes, and financial insights, ensuring clients achieve the most profitable and sustainable outcomes for their land and property assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage planning applications, including new and existing applications.
  • Work alongside the development consultancy team to create and implement planning solutions.
  • Provide advice on planning policy, compliance, and land use.
  • Lead the preparation of planning applications, designs, and supporting documents.
  • Engage in Planning Inquiries, Appeals, and public consultations.
  • Liaise with local authorities, government bodies, and stakeholders.
  • Deliver Land Value Optimisation (LVO) advice to maximise the financial potential of land and property assets.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • A recognised qualification in Town Planning (e.g. MRTPI or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in a planning consultancy or local authority role.
  • Strong understanding of the planning process and local authority priorities.
  • Ability to produce high-quality planning reports, documents, and submissions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A creative and solution-focused approach to problem-solving.

Desirable:

  • Experience in land value optimisation and development viability.
  • Knowledge of the South Coast planning landscape.
