They are looking for an Applications Engineer to join their team in Dorset on a permanent basis.The Applications Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
  • 2 years or more of experience in a similar Applications / Mechanical Engineering position
  • Confident speaking to customers and managing projects
  • Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • Knowledge of a sheet metal, injection moulded plastics, welding, fabrication, castings etc.
  • Knowledge of pipes, tubes, hoses, valves, pumps and similar equipment would be beneficial
  • Proven ability to drive Engineering development
  • Good mathematical and general engineering knowledge
  • The ability to understand system requirements
  • Be self-motivated with excellent attention to detail
  • Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written
The Applications Engineer role will involve:
  • Working on project specifications – creating CAD drawings and preparing cost estimates working off customer requirements
  • Writing quotes and other technical details
  • Using in house software and quoting tools
  • Meeting with customers via Teams and also in person and delivering proposals
  • Explain the systems and designs in a clear and concise manner
  • Helping to define project schedules
  • Being involved in testing completed systems
  • Have a good appreciation for using hand tools and basic fabrication methods
  • Working closely with other members of the engineering team
