Adecco Bournemouth is working with a client seeking a proactive Mechanical Build Engineer with a passion for solving complex problems and working within dynamic teams. We're looking for an independent thinker who excels in both mechanical and electrical systems to join our client's team.

Role OverviewAs a Mechanical Build Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering technical projects. You will collaborate with various departments to build and test electrical systems. Your expertise will help identify areas for improvement, and you'll ensure work is completed to a high standard of accuracy. You will also have the opportunity to install robotic automation systems at client sites, which will involve travel.

Key Responsibilities for a Mechanical Build Engineer

  • Work cross-departmentally to deliver technical projects.
  • Accurately build and test electrical systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical faults independently.
  • Travel to client sites for installations, including working across sectors such as defence.
  • Promote and adhere to health and safety standards.

Essential Requirements

  • Able to obtain security clearance up to Developed Vetting level.
  • Qualified to HNC level in a mechanical-focused course, or mechanical apprentice trained, or equivalent experience.
  • Competent in machining, milling, lathing, drilling, tapping, and general mechanical workshop skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Confident in reading and interpreting technical electrical drawings.
  • Understanding of safety systems in industrial environments.
  • Holds a full UK driving licence.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to customer sites and learn new technologies.
