Factory Technical Manager

£50,000 – 60,000 DOE + Excellent Benefits

My client, a successful and award winning FMCG food manufacturing company based near Dorchester is looking to recruit a Technical Manager / Quality Manager. The company supplies retailer, food service, manufacturing and export sectors and the experienced Technical Manager / Quality Manager will head up the site technical team reporting into the Group Head of Technical. This vacancy has arisen due to a retirement.

The main purpose of the role is to lead the site Quality Assurance function, ensuring full compliance with legal, customer, and accreditation requirements. Manage and continually improve the site's Quality System, fostering a culture of continuous improvement in quality, safety, and operational efficiency

Technical Manager Main Duties and Responsibilities will include:

  • Motivating and developing the team by being visible in the factory, leading by example and working closely with other managers to ensure technical integrity and best practice.
  • To support and facilitate all third party and customer technical audits.
  • Ensure site HACCP plans for all products are established, implemented, maintained, and verified.
  • To complete and respond to customer technical queries.
  • Alerting adverse trends and arranging effective action plans in a timely manner.
  • Maintain and develop the site Quality Management System to meet evolving standards and regulations.
  • Work closely with the NPD Manager / site team to ensure smooth transition of products from concept to launch.

The successful Technical manager must have:

  • Hands-on Technical / Quality Management experience gained from a food or drink manufacturing background
  • Experience in a customer facing role
  • Understanding of Food legislation, Food Safety and microbiology
  • Formal Food qualification
  • A UK valid driving licence is also essential.

In return the successful Technical Manager will be working for a growing and award winning food manufacturer in the beautiful Dorset countryside. You will earn a competitive salary of between £50-60k DOE and benefits
