SEN Planning Review OfficerLocation: DorchesterContract: TemporarySalary: £280 per day (Umbrella)Myn is recruiting on behalf of our long-term partner for an SEN Planning Review Officer to support children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in Dorchester. This role is essential in managing and completing Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) while ensuring that each child’s unique needs are at the centre of the planning process.What You’ll Do:
  • Complete EHCPs and manage SEND processes, ensuring the voice of the child and their family is heard.
  • Provide expertise in SEND Tribunal processes and guide families on appeal mechanisms when necessary.
  • Participate in multi-agency meetings, collaborating with colleagues to secure the best outcomes for children.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, reviewing progress with families and children regularly.
  • Organise and prioritise tasks effectively, working to deadlines and within budget constraints.
  • Be part of a multi-agency team while also engaging with SEND professionals across the county for peer support and training.
What We’re Looking For:
  • A relevant professional qualification, with GCSE English and Maths (grade C or above) and post-qualification experience.
  • Experience working within the SEN field and an understanding of statutory SEND processes.
  • Strong familiarity with Local Authority functions or experience in a complex organisational environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to produce clear reports on children’s progress and needs.
  • Solid administrative skills, with proficiency in data management to inform service improvement.
  • An advocate for inclusion, committed to the ‘one team’ approach and Dorset Council’s values of responsibility, respect, recognition, and collaboration.
  • A full UK driving licence for travel as required.
