*Managing Quantity Surveyor needed for a Tier 1 Contractor in the West Country on a Highways Framework *

Role: Managing Quantity Surveyor overseeing a commercial team on a framework and reporting into a Senior Commercial Manager. The highways framework you'll be overseeing covers 4 geographical locations within the West Country so you will be expected to travel every so often.

Salary: 75,000 - 90,000 + package including 28 days annual leave + BH, pension, life assurance, private health care, and a company car or car allowance

Location: South West England

Company: Tier 1 main contractor who specialises in designing, constructing, and maintaining critical highways infrastructure in the UK. Their services include highways maintenance, street lighting, and complex infrastructure projects for both private and public sectors. The company emphasises sustainability, health, safety, and client collaboration, aiming to be the preferred supplier for infrastructure needs

Duties:

  • Undertake pre-contract setup, including forecasting, measurement, sub-contract tendering and procurement (including drafting to negotiating various forms of subcontract)
  • Manage the commercial aspects of various projects, including valuations / applications, budget monitoring, material / plant reconciliation and contract variations / compensation events and change
  • Assess, review and mitigate commercial and contractual risks
  • Procurement and management of subcontract packages
  • Responsible for producing and maintaining project forecasts
  • Maximise cashflow through the control and valuation of works, invoicing and payment process

MUST HAVE: Experience working on highways maintenance frameworks and knowledge of NEC contracts
