Location: Dorchester
Contract: Permanent / 34.5hrs per week
Salary: £26,888 - £30,819. (Actual salary £21,455 - £24,592 for term time only)

An Alternative Provision school in Dorchester is looking for a teacher that is in search of a new challenge to take on a 1:1 Maths Tutor role. The school provides support to students with specific Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Their therapeutic approach ensures all of their pupils are treated as individuals and their needs are responded to as such.

Key Responsibilities of a 1:1 Maths Tutor:

1)Deliver high-quality maths tuition aligned with the school's curriculum standards, ensuring that students are well-prepared for future academic challenges.
2) Implement differentiated teaching strategies to cater to diverse learning styles and abilities, ensuring that each student has the opportunity to thrive.
3)Utilise innovative and interactive teaching methods, incorporating real-world applications to make maths relevant and engaging for SEMH students.
4)Regularly assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their academic growth. Collaborate with colleagues to analyse assessment data and refine teaching practices.

Qualifications and Requirements for this 1:1 Maths Tutor position:

Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field; a Master’s degree is a plus.
Teaching certification in Mathematics.
PGCE/QTS/QTLS
Previous experience of teaching mathematics in some capacity.
Familiarity with and commitment to the principles of the school’s curriculum.
