Job Description:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate PE Teacher to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality physical education lessons to students across various age groups. This role requires a commitment to inspiring a love for physical activity, promoting healthy lifestyles, and developing students' skills and confidence in a range of sports and physical activities.

Key Responsibilities:

-          Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging PE lessons in line with the national curriculum.

-          Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and development.

-          Assess and monitor students' progress, providing constructive feedback and support.

-          Organise and supervise extracurricular sports activities, clubs, and events.

-          Collaborate with colleagues to develop and share best practices in physical education.

-          Ensure the safety and well-being of all students during PE lessons and activities.

-          Maintain and manage PE equipment and resources effectively.

Requirements:

-          Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

-          Degree in Physical Education or a related field.

-          Proven experience teaching PE, preferably in a secondary school setting.

-          Strong knowledge of the national curriculum and assessment requirements for PE.

-          Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

-          Ability to motivate and inspire students of all abilities.

-          Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with educational best practices.

About the School:

The School is a mixed Secondary School for students aged from 11 to 16 years with around 700 students in total. The School is based in Dorchester and was graded as a Good School in its last Ofsted inspection and continues to perform well.
