Job Title: Fostering Social Worker (Assessment Team)

About the Role
You will be joining a well-structured and organised team of around 30 individuals who are looking to grow the staffing levels. The role offers flexible working hours and has a supportive team culture with regular supervision on cases. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced and supportive team within Dorset Council.The team are involved in Mainstream assessment and post approval support. Kinship assessments (including Reg 24/Fostering/Special guardianship). Supported Lodgings assessment and support. Staying Put Run the Mockingbird model.
Day to day activities
- You will plan own diary.
- Full team meeting once a month and assessment team meeting once a month
- Take turn in duty rota.
- Role will be to complete approx. 4 kinship (fostering/SGO) through to completion (3-4) months requirement to work between home and office
Required Experience and Qualifications
- 3 years post qualification experience within UK
- Enhanced Childrens & Adults DBS/CRB (we can obtain for you)
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- SWE Registered
- Degree in Social Work (or equivalent)
- Fulfil the travel requirements of the role
- Experience in Fostering and SG assessments
- Experience of Assessing Kinship Carers by way of fostering and Special Guardianship
- familiarity of Coram Baaf forms
- Experience of fostering post approval work.
