We are looking to recruit a Social Worker for the Children with Disabilities Team within the Social Care Industry. Our client has a well-structured and organised team that are looking to grow their staffing levels. The role offers flexible working hours and has a supportive team culture with regular supervision on cases. Dorset Council is embedding a systemic approach and is currently undergoing a number of changes focussed on reducing caseloads and improving outcomes for families. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced and supportive team within Dorset CouncilMain duties include:

  • You will work with them, their families and other agencies to meet their assessed needs and support them to achieve their potential.
  • Include assessment, planning and interventions with Children in Need, Children Looked After and Children in need of Protection, as well as young people preparing for adulthood.
  • Will have a Social Work qualification and an understanding of the impact of disability on children's lives.
  • Be passionate about making a difference, and able to use creative and personalised approaches alongside the team's Signs of Safety and My Plan approach to achieve positive outcomes for children.
  • Be able to work in partnership with disabled children and their families, as well as colleagues in Education, Health, the Voluntary & Community sector, wider Children's and Lifelong Services
  • Must be passionate about making a difference and able to use creative and personalised strengths-based approaches alongside the team's embedded Signs of Safety work to achieve positive outcomes for children.
  • Be able to work in partnership with disabled children and their families

Minimum Requirements:

  • SWE Registration
  • 1 year post qualifying experience within the UK Social Care industry
